Standard 2 Overview: 
A primary focus of standard 2 is the creation of a sustainable system of student achievement.  The superintendent creates a culture of instructional excellence focused on the mission of the school.  Superintendents must continually scan the educational horizon to proactively meet changes in the educational landscape.   Additionally, the superintendent creates an educational environment of innovative educational strategies, appropriate classroom technologies, and effective educator collaboration rooted in established curriculum.  

Functions:

1. Candidates can promote the most effective and appropriate district technologies to support teaching and learning within the district. Candidates understand and can advocate, nurture, and sustain a district culture and instructional program conducive to student learning through collaboration, trust, and a personalized learning environment with high expectations for students.
2. Candidates understand and can create and evaluate a comprehensive, rigorous, and coherent curricular and instructional district program.
3. Candidates understand and can develop and supervise the instructional and leadership capacity across the district.
4. Candidates understand and can promote the most effective and appropriate district technologies to support teaching and learning within the district.

Evidence of Mastery: 
​Continuous improvement is necessary for every organization. School districts that fail to embrace feedback and analyze available data are destined to decline. Change is rarely popular but is far more achievable when stakeholders are given an appropriate voice and opportunity to collaborate on the decision making process.  A careful review of available data identified several areas of the district in need of substantial change.  Using the Strategic Goals of the district as our guide, the continual improvement of the system became attainable.  

Digital Leadership Plan: The use of digital learning to improve a district's ability to reach all students is essential in today's educational culture.  This plan outlines a strategy for maximizing a district's technology resources in an effort to improve student learning and instructional practices.
Educator Evaluation Plan  Assistant Superintendent Evaluation Instrument: Educator effectiveness is the number one indicator of student success and satisfaction with school. This plan outlines an evaluation plan to ensure teacher and district administrator excellence. 
Personalized Professional Development: My personalized professional development plan has been self directed with the intention of establishing a educational presence and directing my personalized learning towards the specific goal of becoming a School District Superintendent.
